Rained constantly all night and throughout this morning so despite the spectacular view we decided to move on. There were more Mallos to be seen behind the village of Aguero a few miles away. What a spectacular setting for a village – looked amazing, even in the rain.
Off in a long drive next to the Bardenas Reales – a natural desert in the Navarre region. It wouldn’t be Spain though without a sheep and goat invasion along the way! 😂
It was a proper lunar landscape with really odd rock formations caused by the wind. Spain’s answer to Monument Valley apparently. We drove past the visitor centre and carried on until we reached a strange military area – bit odd. It looked like Tracy Island – think Thunderbird 2 is defo in there. 😂
After lunch, we decided to get back on the main roads and drove slightly north to Logrono. Tapas central – as usual, the streets were buzzing just at the point when we decided to come home. At €1.50 a glass for Rioja though, things could have got out of hand if we’d stayed any longer. 😉🍷🍷🍷
