Left early-ish this morning and made our way towards Biarritz on the coast. En route we had a pit stop at Intermarche for coffee followed by a Lidl shop to restock the fridge. The last time we came to Biarritz, we had a nightmare drive through and couldn’t find anywhere to park …this, however, was before we discovered the ‘Searchforsites’ and ‘Park4night’ apps. We confidently made our way to the first motorhome parking only to find it didn’t exist! Battled our way along the seafront and one way system to the second choice which was full 🙄! Parked by the roadside in the end. Had lunch and then walked along the coast to the old harbour. It was really hot and I was dressed in all the wrong gear, not really believing it could be 25 degrees. Biarritz was lovely – a very elegant old seaside resort with a spectacular coastline. Big waves for the surfers and photo opportunities at every turn. It was very busy, I suppose due to the weather and it still being half term for some. We left about 5pm and drove on into Spain. Now parked in an estuary in Orio – came here on our first trip – it’s weird to retrace our steps.
