Bratislava

Wasn’t 100% sure of last nights parking but it was a quiet night. The local druggy called round to see if we had any money this morning – we didn’t! Took Rufus a nice walk on a hillside then as we were driving away from Banska we passed the dingiest most horrible block of flats I’ve ever seen. There were whole families with children sat outside among the rubbish next to the bins – worst thing we’ve come across in what’s otherwise quite a nice country. Drove into Bratislava and parked along side the river. Walked over the bridge to the old town which was lovely, then up to the castle. The striking thing about the views from it was the amount of tower blocks in the distance from the communist era – so grim. It was really hot again this afternoon especially when we were up at the castle gardens. Decided to drive on a little way towards Vienna to try and find services. Guy managed to sort the loo at a garage in the end and we think we’ve got enough water till tomorrow, so we’ve parked on the banks of the Danube again. Some huge boats going past and we’re near an interesting looking town called Hainburg so might have a wander in tomorrow.
