Up early and would’ve been away by 9:15 had there not been a massive queue at reception. Paying the bill was straight forward but they wanted the tourist tax (€8 for us) in cash! It was causing chaos as everyone was having to run back to their van to scrape some euros together. You have to wonder why that bit has to be cash in this day and age!!?
Getting out of our tight sloping pitch wasn’t anywhere near as bad as getting in for Guy, thankfully.
We were soon on the road, following Lake Garda south to Sirmione. The whole world seemed to be heading north today, which was a bonus.
Stopped at Lidl – always a bad idea when you’re hungry.
Got to our new campsite, just outside Sirmione, feeling smug as we’d made a two day reservation in advance. Big queue at reception again – it’s so much easier in a car park! 🤣
We have a pitch right down by the lake but unbelievably, it’s on a big slope 🙄 I’ll never get my balance again at this rate. We’ve been advised by friendly German man to get some German ramps as they’re so much better. Reckon it’s the first time we’ve had a levelling problem in three years so might not bother.
Had a swim and a little sunbathe/snore as it’s a bit cooler than yesterday. The weather seems to have bought all the creatures out this evening though – just had the attack of the two giant hornets. I’ve nearly set fire to myself flapping about near the mosquito candle. Might have to hide inside. 🙄
