Cefalu

Still at Camping Sanfilippo. Thought we’d stay another day so that we could get the bus in to Cefalu. It looked far too technical to drive in and the buses run every hour (in theory)! Rufus decided it was far too hot and stayed in the van with his biggest fan. We thought we could be there and back in two hours as it’s only about a mile and a half down the coast. We would have preferred to walk but there is no pavement for most of it, so would be very dangerous. The first bus was at 10.40am and it turned up bang on time with a driver that was as mad as a box of frogs. I’m sure the rollercoaster at Blackpool is more sedate! Miraculously, we arrived in one piece and had a wander round. It was a bit of a disappointment – I don’t really know why. Nice beach and old town but think we are getting a bit spoilt. 😬🤔 The return bus at 12:30 didn’t turn up and the next one was scheduled for 2:15pm – too long for us to leave our furry friend. Had to get a taxi back – €12 instead of €2.20 on the bus. 😠 Dog was stretched out zonked as expected. Took him to the beach later and he actually had a paddle. He’s getting very brave in his old age!
