Ainsa

Tried to get up to the Valle de Escuain this morning, but after climbing up quite high, the road became unsuitable for us. Next, the Añiscio canyon, which was closed to motorhomes after just a few miles. It was becoming a day of U-turns!

Down the road to Ainsa, where we discovered a lovely old town on a hill. The sun was shining and it seemed to have warmed up as there were loads of people sat outside drinking cold lager. Good views from the city walls. Went in the free museum for about ten seconds ..bit boring 😬

After lunch we drove south east with the aim of getting to the Congost de Mont-Rebei..a dramatic gorge.

After missing a service station, we had to do another u-turn, then google maps sent us up the wrong road ..we’d done about ten miles before we noticed! 🙄When we finally arrived, the car park was closed so people had parked along the narrow road. We managed to squeeze into a lay-by about half a mile further up.

It was already 5pm, but we thought we’d walk down and check it out ready for tomorrow. Got carried away and did about three and half miles – uphill most of the way back. Exhausted now 🙄😴
