Bitter cold this morning. Drove along the top of the lake to Friedrichshafen and managed to squeeze into a carpark. I’m sure it must be lovely in the summer but the place felt very bleak today. We went into the Zeppelin museum to warm up. It was all quite interesting, but really a massive space with not a lot in it. There was a part reconstruction of the Hindenburg complete with sound. The luxury level was quite outstanding compared to Ryanair 😂- they need to get a piano put in! I never realised they started making them in 1900 and later on they did chartered flights across the Atlantic among other places. We came out and walked to the end of a little pier and climbed the scaffold tower at the end. It was incredibly cold and windy up there. Had lunch, then drove on to Meersburg, which was very pretty with its two castles. Most shops were closed and the open ones had doubled their prices it seemed. My dream of Christmas shopping early has gone out the window. On the motorway then for a bit and into the southern end of the Black Forest where to our surprise, we found snow! ❄️Sort of expected it to be warmer. Lake Titisee is lovely and seems to have a whole resort built around it. Couldn’t find any Gluwein though, so when we got back we heated up our red wine with orange slices and sugar – did the trick! -3 forecast for tonight! ⛄️
