Woke up to rain and a thick mist …how bizarre! Think it was probably forecast, but it was so lovely yesterday, we didn’t believe it!
Thought we’d have a look in the caves as they’re supposed to be some of the best in Spain.
Guided tours only, which we hate, but rules is rules! The thing is, it was a guided tour at warp speed, which was no good for me on slippery stones…I was so busy checking my foot placement and watching my head, I barely had time to look at the cave stuff.

Guy agreed that it was all too fast but it worked in his favour. As no photographs seemed to mean – ‘don’t let me see you taking any photos’, people who loitered at the back could get away with a click or too. People loitering were a gang of teenage girls doing poses on every corner, Guy with the big conspicuous camera and then me, with my permanent banana skins for boot soles!
Beautiful caves though – worth the visit.

Jabugo next. Home of the Ibérico ham factory. Made a small purchase in one of the shops – some ‘presa’ like we had on Friday night, billed as the wagyu of pork cuts. Most of it will go in the freezer but trying a small piece for dinner 😋

Mid afternoon disappeared while we searched for diesel and services, then we finally got to Zafra about 4:15pm.
We had a walk in and the old centre was as lovely as we remembered, but the parking was inundated with flies for some reason. Moved a few miles out of town but it seems that they’ve followed us. They must know about the meat purchase!
