At the tunnel for 8:20pm this morning and we sailed straight through – even got put on an earlier train. Problem was, once we got to the uk it was still rush hour! 🙄
We’d gambled on diesel thinking it would be cheaper in the uk than France, so de-toured to a Sainsburys only to find that it was more expensive. £141 to fill up! Wow! The M20 was nose to tail – can never get over the amount of lorries in England.
Trying to work out our best route home, I couldn’t understand why none of the options took us through the Dartford tunnel – strange. We decided to just go towards it in the hope that it would be open. As we came out the other side, it suddenly dawned on me that I had ‘avoid tolls’ set up on my phone – duh! 🙄
The very last bit of our journey was a dream as we came up the new Gedling bypass. Empty and smooth, it was the best road we’d been on all day!
Almost unpacked, the house seems massive as usual, but best of all, it contains the junior Bramley for a couple of days.
Big thanks to everyone for keeping in touch, back in August hopefully, but for now I’m off for a big sleep! 😴😂
