Following the main road down the east side of the peninsula this morning, we turned off onto what looked like dirt track but became road. All the hills around were crisscrossed with little tracks – Guy thinks he’s read somewhere that it’s an ex-military area, which would explain it. Down at the bottom was a lovely little bay and we managed to park on a bit of scrubland at the back.

It was hot, hot, hot! The sea had crashing waves which tipped me over twice when I tried to get in. Nice and warm though!

We decided to move on mid afternoon mainly because we were both fancying a bit of air conditioning 😂

Down just past the southern tip we found Porto Koufo, and possibly our best parking spot ever! We’ve got our door opening out onto the sand and the sea is five metres away…its beautiful.

Porto Koufo is a natural harbour with very deep water; apparently it was used to hide submarines in world war 2.

There’s a few restaurants up at the far end where the boats are moored, and four or five other motorhomes from various countries parked along the edge of the sea.

Pretty perfect really.
