Been into Bosnia today (never thought I’d say that!). Had a bit of a false start when we tried to get through the border in the wrong place 🙄. “You have to go back” said the non-friendly border guard, “this crossing is for local people only”. Back down the windy road we went and then tried again in the middle of the Neum corridor. We got in, but somehow we weren’t on the route that most people take. More twisty, turny, mountain hairpin stuff. Was just starting to clench my jaw and grind my teeth when we hit a main road – phew! It felt quite nice and friendly …all the drivers were very courteous. Paid an arm and a leg to park in a tiny backyard in the middle of Mostar, but it was handy that we could use Euros as we didn’t want to be changing money into yet another currency just for a day trip. Mostar was beautiful with a very Arabian kind of influence. The bridge looked amazing. Several men were queueing up to jump off the top, although after a few minutes of stretching and posing they all seemed to change their minds. 😂 The whole town was a kind of bazaar- Guys worst nightmare …he was racing through until I informed him that ‘wandering’ was part of the experience. Didn’t buy anything as I’m sure that Chanel & Gucci don’t really have a stall there! 😉 We were going to shoot back down the main road and then back up to Omis via motorway once we reached Croatia. Somehow, we de-toured again but eventually found ourselves on brand new motorway. The road back in to Omis was again very high up but super scenic. On a campsite now …must, must do washing tomorrow.
