A multi centre day today as it has been quite stormy with real torrential
downpours at times. We caught the bus up to Orvieto this morning as the funicular wasn’t working. We got absolutely soaked but seeing the Duomo was worth it. Really detailed carvings, pillars and oversized doors. Had a wander in the rain afterwards ….thought maybe we could look in the shops, but how could I forget – Guy doesn’t ‘do’ shopping unless it’s for food, camera or bike bits! 😉
We set off for Perugia and stopped at Todi for lunch, not realising it was another hill town with a broken lift and courtesy bus to the top. If only the coach load of Slovenians had a little courtesy to match, instead of pushing and shoving their way in front of everyone. Todi was a nice little town which seemed to be pedestrianised in places until we saw a car coming down steps 😂!!
Drove on to Perugia which seemed like a big city nightmare and the only camper stop had bad reviews so, after a stop at Lidl (Today was the day Guy finally gave in and gave his trolley Euro to the happy, smiley Nigerian trolley putter awayer!) we made our way to Lago Trasimeno. It looks quite nice from what we can see but it’s still raining on and off and the sky is really dark.
