Lovely quiet night with just the sound of the sea. Woke up to brilliant sunshine, but unfortunately, it didn’t last long. By the time we’d driven a few short miles down the coast to Galatás, it was raining again.

Parked in the huge carpark next to the sea, then we walked along the promenade looking for a boat to take us across to Poros Town on the island of the same name. From Galatás, we are directly opposite and it looks like it’s almost touching distance. The boat ride was about four minutes €1:30!

As always, the town looks better from a distance as you can see it climbing up the steep hillside.

At ground level, mainly restaurants and hundreds of yachts. There must be millions of pounds worth moored up on the waterfront… I think there was some kind of yachting event about to happen.

We walked up to the clock tower through a maze of steep narrow streets, looked at the view and then hurried back to the nearest boat as the heavens opened again.

With nothing else to do in the rain, we followed the road down to Ermióne, where last year we caught a boat across to Ydhra, which was lovely, but wouldn’t be great in this weather. Parked up at the port, played cards and tried to create something for dinner from the scraps left in the fridge. Thank God we had prawns in the freezer! Lidl tomorrow.😬
