Looking sunny this morning, so we hot tailed it back up the road five miles to Reine. By the time we got there, all the free parking had gone. I must admit it was nearly lunchtime as we’d failed to get up early again! The quiet carpark we’d slept in, seemed to be full of people opening and shutting locker doors all night, plus a rogue motorcyclist doing a few circuits. 🙄

The little town of Reine is on an island and looks really pretty from the road with its surrounding mountains, but it’s the Reinebringen hike that inspired Guy to want to come to Norway. The views from the top are legendary, but it’s only just been made doable again now that some stone ‘steps’ have been put in. Sherpas were bought in from Nepal to complete the task. After some research, I decided there was ‘nor way’ 😂(been dying to get that one in!) I was going up there! It was vertical! Best thing to do in these circumstances is to just send the photographer up.
Off he went.

I had a look around Reine (5 mins) and in a shop (3mins), wandered back to van, at which point I got a text saying he was at the top and could see me!
Walked back to the starting point to meet the sweat soaked, wobbly legged adventurer coming back down. 1560 deep stone steps, 143 floors with the final 50 metres a vertiginous scramble – hats off to you Guy! (Nutter)

That’s about all for today. He’s a bit tired now and has started drinking my wine as his has all gone. 🍷

Well done Guy. Amazing views. But drinking Janet’s wine, now come on.
Yeah, just bloody rude I reckon! I thought if I got rosé he’d leave it alone. Not much left now – starting to panic! 😂 Hows life back home? X – missing your blog!
I reckon so too. We were home for a week, now in Blackpool on a dance break. (Our guilty pleasure). Nothing else planned for ages. Your trip looks amazing.
