Salamanca – Losing my Religion 😂

I’m all cherubed out now after visiting another cathedral in Salamanca today.
We got here at lunchtime and thought we’d park next to the church in the same spot we came to two years ago. We remembered it well, as last time Guy drove over a central reservation to get into the car park after going round the roundabout several times – the other motorhomies were amazed! This time, straight in from the road with an A* for driving skills!
We felt quite sad walking over the bridge as we remembered having to keep Rufus away from the traffic – he sometimes used to launch himself at big lorries 🙄…and also tried to get him to sit quietly under a table whilst we had a meal – not a chance! 😂
Spent the afternoon wandering round this beautiful town. Couldn’t decide whether to go into the cathedral but Guy had his camera poised and it was very cold out…even colder inside as it turns out! Almost as spectacular as yesterday’s extravaganza in Burgos…so much money must go into the upkeep of these places.
Later on, in the Plaza Mayor we came across our first wedding of the trip. The guests gathered outside with paper cones filled with rice ready to throw over the happy couple. Had a coffee to warm up and then came back via the Roman bridge with great views looking back up at the town.
There were a couple of undesirables hanging around the car park upon our return. We decided to move a couple of miles down the road so that we don’t have to sleep with one eye open.
