812DC00F-0028-402B-A9FD-B1ECFC670889Warm and sunny today – hurray! 😎We did a bit of shopping before we left Sortland this morning as there was a Co op behind us. It’s really depressing …everything is eye wateringly expensive 😢. We were expecting this, but it’s still quite shocking. Saw a tin of Confit de Canard (we weren’t considering buying I hasten to add) at 629 kroner – which is about £62.90 😮F4D66543-DF12-45D0-8823-0343C4B937A7.jpeg
Drove off in a sulk in search of LPG – the only place that had it was closed. Luckily, we think we’ve got enough to last a few more days. Made our way south towards the Lofoten Islands. Had two lovely stops, one overlooking some grassy islands covered in birds, then later on, next to some sparkling white beaches. Whilst out walking, we had a chat with some Norwegians who were sitting on their balcony overlooking paradise. They were very interested in Boris and Brexit! 😂 We considered staying at this second place but there was a parking charge of about £10 so we carried on. Made it here to Svolvaer – we didn’t actually mean to drive this far south today but couldn’t find anywhere else suitable to stop.
Parked up by a lake – it’s very peaceful. All the locals have been swimming in the water – they say it’s warm…I’m not convinced. 😬

  1. Are you managing to free camp? Would you say that offsets the food costs? It’s got me thinking ahead & I’ve got loads of questions. We’ll have to try to get together when you get back. Happy travels.

    1. Loads of free camping, loads of drinkable water, think we’ve only used campsites twice😳 for washing, lots of cassette emptying places. Scenery is stunning. Food costs are astronomical and it probably does offset it… does leave you with a feeling that you’ve been robbed😢. For us the food thing is spoiling it a bit, we may get use to it but when you spend £70 and come out of the shop with two carrier bags of shopping it leaves a bit of a bad taste in your mouth 🤯
