A bit of a trip through the Spanish countryside today as we were trying to keep away from the bad weather on the coast.
After taking the van 10km up to a remote village to sort the drain etc (even free electricity there if we’d wanted it!), we made our way to the little mountain town of Prades – again another French name.
On the way in, Guy saw a place where we could actually get the van in to jet wash it, so we gave it a whirl. It was utter rubbish – not enough soap Guy said!
Prades was a lovely, red stoned village in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, the photographer didn’t take many pics as he was still disgruntled over the jet wash!
I’ve just learned in the Rough Guide 2004 version, that on the second weekend in July they replace the water in the fountain with Cava and for a small fee, you can help yourself! Imagine that in the market square in Nottingham!?

The rest of the afternoon consisted of scenic views and winding mountain roads ..I actually felt a bit travel sick after a couple of hours. 🤢

We did pass the site of the ‘Cova Hospital de Santa Llúcia’ which was originally a field hospital during the Civil War. Looked interesting but not big enough for us to park in..

Further down, we started following the River Ebro, and after an unsuccessful parking attempt in Móra d’Ebre – think it was flooded, we landed in the little village of Ginestar. Here, there is free parking for five motorhomes, each on a separate concrete base facing the grapevines..it’s lovely. Went to stretch our legs and tried to reach the picturesque village of Miravet but unfortunately, the little ferry across the river didn’t seem to be running. About turn ..time for wine!
