Walked up to the town last night – it’s a maze of tiny cobbled streets, churches, mosques, synagogues, everything! Reasonably quiet night in the car park. Rufus had a little ramble this morning – he’s completely back on form; eating well and walking much better …strange that the antibiotics he’s had for an abscess seem to have had other benefits. We marched back up to the town this morning, although my legs were still a bit stiff from yesterday’s jaunts – my phone spy says we’ve walked nearly 20km in the last two days! Got some more pictures of the cathedral etc, then Guy found the sculpture of the Eagle of Toledo (cyclist) – I could see him comparing leg muscles 🙄 It was at this point that we realised we were well and truly lost – it took us forever to get back to the motorhome, even with the aid of google maps! Had lunch – no bread again 😢and then set off towards Córdoba. I found us a nice place to stay at a picnic area in the mountains -complete with a gypsy encampment, loose dogs roaming round and the obligatory kids on quad bikes kicking up all the dust. We carried on. Then parked in a nice town, had a walk around the castle with Rufus, came back for dinner only to realise we were nearly out of water and there was a red light on the toilet. More driving! Mile after flat mile of nothing but olive trees and grape vines in red earth. Eventually, we got water and sorted the loo at a garage which was also selling diesel for €1.15 – fill it up!!! Finally arrived in this little town called Villa del Rio. There’s a bit of a fiesta going on with fancy dress and marching bands but my pyjamas are looking more favourable tonight.

Toledo then South to Andalucia
