Driving towards Sigmaringen today, we got distracted by a huge castle on the horizon so the route got diverted.
The free car park was at the bottom of the hill and the walk up was quite painful after yesterday’s expedition. We made it to the top, spurred on by the encroachment of some very loud Americans. As expected, you could see for miles all around – they knew what they were doing I think, when they built these things.
Back to the original route after lunch and we arrived in Sigmaringen to find that the circus had come to town – right behind our ear-marked stellplatz! 😬They’re still setting up and we haven’t heard any tigers yet so should be ok. Suddenly it seems that everyone wants cash again and of course, we haven’t got any! They’ll take cards for over €20 but cafes and campsites want the paper stuff. We got some out!

In the town is another castle of the very impressive variety. We walked all around the outside edge of it, even climbing another hill to get a photo from opposite. Finished off with a little stroll along the Danube then back to the van to sit in the shade…it’s not like we can climb in with these dead legs!
