A five degree start turned into quite a warm sunny day for our blast through Serbia. Getting back on to the motorway was almost as interesting as getting off last night. There are some haphazard road works, so the way to do it seems to be to cross the central reservation Bulgarian style.
The border crossing was relatively quick with the the usual rude staff. It seems they are normally on Facebook whilst they are checking your passport 🙄I was greeted with “turn it off”this morning – assume she meant the engine. Then “vehicle document”.
Amazingly, the roads have been great for most of the way. Big empty toll road up as far as BatoÄŤina, where we turned off. There were some strange clouds mixing with the morning mist but it made sense when we saw the filthy smoke coming from the industrial units. There have been a few pot holes on the A roads, usually great big ones that your wheel could get stuck in. Roadworks everywhere, so I guess they are trying to fix them.

We stopped for lunch on the edge of a lake near Kragujevac, so we marched around it twice for a bit of exercise.

Met with a confusing detour a bit further down the road, three different people came to our aide. One man even drove in front of us to show us where to turn. Very friendly and helpful.
It’s been quite built up most of the way – we were expecting a lot of flat agricultural land, like in the north, but it’s full of busy towns down here. In between towns, car breaker’s yards, loads of them everywhere. Maybe it’s because they all drive like nutters?
Parked by a dam for the night fairly close to the Montenegro border. The idea was to get off the main road, although I think all the lorry driver’s have had the same thought!🙄
