Woke up to rain, rain and more rain, which is probably a good thing as the motorhome was filthy – it’s now a little bit cleaner.
We’d planned to have the day in Girona, but didn’t fancy getting soaked. Decided to do a Lidl shop first on the outskirts of the city. Easier said than done when there’s only a multi-storey car park 🙄Tried a different Lidl but no space to park there either.
Remembering that there was a supermarket in the Espai Girones shopping centre, we decided to head there instead. No supermarket now – was there ever or did I imagine it?
Found a nearby Mercadona in the end but only got half the stuff – seemed a bit expensive. Needed to eat by this time – one of us was definitely getting hangry !🤣
Still raining, we then drove back down towards Roses on the coast, breezed into yet another Lidl and did the rest of the shopping.

That was the day nearly gone and we don’t like Roses, so we took the zigzag route over to Cadaqués where we had our honeymoon thirty years ago! The nearest parking is over the headland in Port Lligat where Salvador Dali lived for many years. His house is now a museum, so we went to have a look around. Guess what? Closed January and February 😬
