Bucketing down with rain the whole morning, with very blustery winds to add to the joy. Had to do a bit of cleaning as we’d run out of excuses.

By 3pm it was starting to clear up, so we set off for Cadaqués with our hats on and hoods up against the wind. There was a good view of Dali’s house from the road – obligatory eggs on the roof and a couple of eerie faces – one split in half down the middle.

We got to the town quite quickly, just up and over the hill really. Boy did it look different today in this wild weather. The sea was crashing in over the road, which had been part cordoned off by the police.

Locals were taking their chances walking and driving on the rest of it. We kept using the back streets to get round the dodgy bits until we reached our honeymoon hotel. Can’t believe it’s still there after thirty years …looking a little tired today, but then most of the town looks like it needs a coat of paint.

We decided to walk around the headland on the way back so that we could see some more of the crazy sea. Looked like tidal waves in some places.

Then, of course, we took the wrong path back! 🙄After trudging down a long narrow nature trail for half a mile, we came to a tiny beach with no way out other than a rock climb.

I can see Guy giving it a speculative once over but it was a definite no from me…starting to get dark as well. Retraced our steps and yomped back around the roads ..bit more of a walk than we’d bargained for but at least the rain held off.

A giant asparagus?
