Calella de Palafrugell

A trip to our favourite place in Europe this morning. Managed to park up quite easily just on the outskirts, then walked down to Llafranc so that we could then follow the beautiful coastal path round to Calella.

We called in a pharmacy on the way to the beach to get yet more cough medicine, for Guy this time. “Where’s my bank card?” …oops, I left it on the dashboard after paying for the parking! I quick marched back to the van whilst the invalid went to sit on the sea front.

It was so warm and sunny …it could have been a summer’s day. The path around the coast was full of Spanish families out for a pre-lunch walk so everywhere had a lively, vibrant feel to it.

Upon reaching Calella de Palafrugell, we happened upon our favouritist restaurant. – Calau. It wasn’t open until 12:30, so we licked the windows for a while.

Got a table outside in the sunshine – first time ever! It was perfect as always – could’ve sat there all afternoon sampling all the goodies that they bring out hot off the plancha, but managed to exercise a little restraint after an hour. 😂

We decided to head for Peratallada this afternoon as we knew there is a nice big car park where it’s fine to stay overnight. Got cheap diesel along the way at €1.51 per litre. Had a little walk around the medieval village late in the day by which time it was back to thick coats!
