Such strange weather I think everyone is getting. The rain was torrential all night, but by 6pm this evening it was beautiful sunshine and far too hot to sit in the van.
Followed the border with the Czech Republic this morning towards Passau. Slow roads again, but quite interesting scenery. Stopped for lunch and a quick walk in a little village where Guy had a go on a children’s zip wire ..I wish I’d videoed it! 😂
Once we got into Germany, it was straight onto the motorways. Much easier for both driver and passenger. Couldn’t decide if we should stop at Regensburg again or try and get a bit further north. Regensburg won as it was warm and sunny and already nearly 4pm.
The town looked so different today compared to when we were here last in April. It was heaving with people, most of them locals and a good proportion of them just stretched out on the grass by the river. We had a good walk around and saw a few bits we’d missed last time then came back to the van, only to find it was far too hot to sit in. Shoes on and back across the bridge into the shady streets of the old town until it cooled off.
Strolling back later, we saw that the whole of one side of the river was lined with people, all just sitting on the banks waiting for the sunset. Such a lovely place.
