Left reasonably early for us but still took us till 6pm ish to reach Calais. We can’t believe how much slower the journey through France is in a motorhome compared to a car. Had some Super U croissants 🥐 though to keep us going! Got to Paris quite quickly but the Peripherique was bouchoned to say the least! 😂Took about an hour to get through. Decided to stop off in Compiegne for lunch …think it’s the start of the Paris-Roubaix (more cycling language). Was a lovely town with a Christmas market but we spent most of the time with a nagging doubt as to whether we would be able to get back out of the car park – it was a bit tight! Drove on to Calais (well, Guy did as I’m too scared of the wind, snow and huge lorries) and arrived just as it dropped really cold again. Had a steak and a glass of red (not a patch on El Barrr Scrofties) then did a bit of late night shopping just as they all pulled their shutters down – typical!
