Memmingham ^
So humid today, I think we were both happy to keep driving for the luxury of air con!
We slept with our bedroom windows wide open last night in what was the equivalent of Attenborough Nature Reserve 🤣
Definitely wouldn’t have been so brave or stupid were it not for three other vans around us doing the same thing.
First stop this morning, the weird and wonderful Völklinger Hütte, historic ironworks now turned into a museum. For us, it was a water and drain stop!

We made it as far as Karlsruhe before hunger took over, so we stopped for lunch by the Rhine. Possibly the worst lunch ever produced by the Masterchef consisting of some scrambled eggs done in a frying pan that had been used for mushrooms. They really were grey. Add to that the fact that we’d run out of butter so all cooked in oil !🤢
Had a walk along the river bank but it was way too hot at that time of day.
Back on the road, we encountered many traffic jams due to road works but managed to get through Pforzheim, Stuttgart and Ulm, before finally landing at Memmingham.

Haven’t been here before but it has a lovely old town with little canals running through it. Very colourful, decorative buildings and a nice big square too.

So pleased we’ve paid €10 to stay in proper motorhome parking tonight. It means we can cook outside and have the windows open. Just hoping that the main road at the back of us quietens down a bit!
