We cut across country this morning in order to get back to the sea.
Amrasa, particularly, sounded quite nice, so we thought that we shouldn’t miss what could possibly be the best spot on the Turkish Black Sea coast.
Drove down through a dense canopy of green to the tiny harbour at Cide. Probably the quietest, most relaxed place we’ve been in Türkiye. Looked like its season had ended though …if it does get any tourists. Not many people about, but plenty of dogs and cats as always. We had lunch and a little wander round. Not much to see, but a pleasant little place.

The strangest thing was seeing a lady come blasting through the streets on a scooter with full on black robe and veil blowing in the breeze!
Guy tackled the last bit of the scenic coastal road next. We have decided that Türkiye has purchased a job lot of 10% signs for its hills. They all say 10% regardless of their steepness 🤣
We passed a couple of beautiful little bays but couldn’t see how to access them. There was new bit of smooth dual carriageway just before Amrasa, which made Guy’s day!

Amrasa is quite an attractive little seaside town with a couple of harbours and a little promontory accessed by a bridge.

It was quite busy today though, and we weren’t allowed to park anywhere near the seafront. Ended up in a little car park set back a couple of streets. The whole family jumped up when we drove in. I think mother was in charge here as she soon appeared with clipboard and spent a good fifteen minutes adjusting the angle we’d parked at even though there were only about six other cars in!
Had a lovely walk around in the sunshine, it was nice to get some fresh air after the last few days of driving.

It’s now about 24°C in the daytime, so much cooler for getting a bit of exercise.
Dark earlier though, and a cat (burglar) has just made us jump by trying to get in through the roof vents! They are very determined.
