It was a bit creepy last night once it got dark – we were the only people in the car park. Guy forced me to get up early so we could get the bus up to the Eagles Nest first thing …trouble was they weren’t running till May! We decided to try and drive up as far as we could, just for the views really. We came to a barrier and paid 8 Euros to drive the Rossfeld Panoramastrasse. It was amazing – incredible views and lots of snow. As we came back down Guy had his blinkers on and sights set for the Grossglockner Pass. Having done our research and found out it was closed, in true Bramley stylee we drove to it anyway – just in case!! Guess what? Closed. We carried on along the valley eventually crossing the snow covered peaks via the Felbertauern tunnel and then followed the road down to Lienz. Found a great parking spot, then took Rufus for a walk around the grounds of a nearby castle. We were back about 4:30 so decided to try and wash the motorhome at the car wash next door – it can’t go through a proper car wash as too much water would get in. So, one bucket, two sponges and many miracle cloths later, it came clean. Apart from the top which we couldn’t reach. Drove back to the car park to find it chained off- it did say no camping 🙄. Now on a very expensive campsite €32 – oops, however, the showers & loos and views are on a par with Le Manoir 👍👍👍….might stay till May! 😂
