Really heavy rain all night …kept us awake for hours. Expected to find ourselves in the middle of the lake this morning! Drove a couple of miles to a gorge and had a walk with Rufus. Unfortunately, it was closed off as there’d been a few trees come down and a bit of a landslide by the look of it. We decided to go to the Slap Savica waterfall instead. The phone nav took us the scenic route through the Triglav National Park. My God, the roads were so narrow and scary but there was nowhere to turn around! We were back up in the snow before we knew it, with accompanying ethereal mist swirling along the road. When we did hit a village, the roads were just like tracks through with low overhanging roofs and telegraph wires. We eventually reached the waterfall and paid €3 each to walk up what seemed like a million steps. It was spectacular at the top…the noise was incredible – can’t imagine what it’s like at Niagra!! We drove back along the valley along a very sensible road – the one we should’ve been on in the first place 🙄. Very few places for motorhomes to park overnight so had quite a drive to this one but the view is unbelievable. There’s a stream of clear glacial water running alongside and Rufus has had a therapeutic toe dip! (Spot the second really real Ibex type thing!)
