Looking out of the door whilst having breakfast this morning, what a vision to behold… the giant man in the van next door complete with giant belly and no shirt was busy reeling in his little plastic step on a piece of string so he didn’t have to bend down or climb out to get it. I was super impressed that he managed to do it without dropping any fag ash in the process. 🤣

Entertainment over, we drove to Lidl for yet more food – who is eating all this? We’ll soon be reeling our own step in with string at this rate.
On to todays activity 😬
We’d been told (thanks Alicia!) about this thrilling canyon walkway, similar to the Caminito del Rey near Malaga, but much shorter so we thought we’d give it a whirl.
The route made up of wooden planks cantilevered over the wall of the canyon. It’s not very long at all but has many steps and some narrow bits where you have to breathe in to get around the rock.

For me, being unable to balance at the best of times, it was the walk up to the ticket booth that could have put me off. Almost a scramble up uneven rock without my walking pole was no joke and I’m glad there weren’t too many people around to witness my antics.

Once on to the actual walkway, I loved it! Wires all around, planks to walk on, plus spectacular views down into the gorge and even glass viewing platforms.

In a curious turn of events, Señor Bramley was not happy at all! I think, that he thinks too much about the construction underneath him and doesn’t trust it. Unfortunately, it was a there and back walk, so once he’d wobbled to the end, we had to turn around and come back up. A kind Dutch couple waited for us, so that we didn’t have to pass on the narrow bits. When Guy told them that he’d done thirty years as a fireman and didn’t know why he suddenly hated sheer drops, they were quite shocked. It’s a very weird thing that started to happen a few years ago when he went up a church tower in Germany. He still always wants to do these things though ..it’s fine by me as long as I haven’t got to scramble up rocks first!
Several glasses of 14% red wine seem to have sorted him out this evening. 🍷🍷🍷
