Fabulous night’s sleep by the sea listening to the waves – I actually woke up about seven and saw the sun rise. Tried to get a photo but forgot about the condensation on the windows! Unfortunately, the proper photographer was still snoring 😴

This afternoon we’ve been to a beautiful area by a river called Pou Clar near a town called Ontinyent. I suppose we were kind of level with Gandia on the coast, but quite a way inland.
It was a bit of a walk in the hot sun to reach the area from where we’d parked, but well worth the effort.
Beautifully clear blue and green pools were teeming with fish and surrounded by flattish white rocks. No wonder it was popular with local people for swimming and picnics. Some young lads were jumping in off the rocks from quite high up – quite scary to watch. Others slipped in by mistake after standing on the slippery edge.
We sat and watched a turtle and a grey wagtail flitting around – he was actually more yellow than grey. No swimming gear with us so we didn’t venture in but the water is reputedly very cold.

Later on, we drove to a small town on a hill called Biar. It has a castle at the top, a beautiful fifteenth century church, but best of all, free motorhome parking, with water and totally free electricity!! Unbelievable!
Walked up to the castle, but it was closed, so back down to the main square and had a vermut and some olives in the cafe bar. Only fair to the town if we’re going to plug in everything we’ve got! 🤣
