Well, the leisure battery gave up the ghost last night before we even went to bed! After covering Rufus up, we thought we were in for an extremely cold night, but then, out of the blue the heating clicked on about 4am. We don’t know what to make of it! Short journey into Freiburg this morning, where, as we parked up, a very kind Englishman came out of his apartment and said “ Two things, first, buy a ticket because they do check, second, turn your vehicle round or they’ll do you for facing the wrong way as well!” We’d just used all our change in the last parking meter, so he did no more than walk off and buy us a ticket!! He said it was Hallowe’en night so this was his treat – enjoy Freiburg. So kind – we couldn’t get over it. Freiburg was ok but had more of a city feel to it. In Guys opinion it was made better by a Bratwurst sausage with mustard at the outdoor market! Drove on in the afternoon, crossing the border into France and stopping at Colmar ( with electricity hook up!👍👍). The town was outstanding. Like Venice with its picture postcard view on every corner. Almost too much to take in. As we were walking out, we thought it might look amazing all lit up, so we used that as an excuse to go in a bar for a drink. Very friendly cosy place – Guy tried some rouge coloured beer and then completely forgot to take any photos on the way out. 🙄
