Good nights sleep – I actually woke up at 7am! We seemed to be passing Córdoba in no time at all then it all slowed down as the roads became twisty all the way to the little town of Setenil. We must have passed millions of olive trees – mile after mile of them and in the towns, all the trees were heavily laden with oranges 🍊! Guy is desperate to try one but I reckon they’ll be a bit bitter like marmalade. It got hot as we walked into the town which seemed to be made up of a load of houses, bars and restaurants all built under a big rock. It felt like the whole of Spain was here having lunch here – the noise level was phenomenal – think it was echoing off the rock. Had lunch in the van as it was a bit scruffy in the car park. Drove on then to Ronda which was really close. Rufus had another walk and then we set off to see the famous bridge. The road took us through the town which was heaving with people – mainly Spanish, eating, drinking and shopping. It was nothing short of manic, until we reached the bridge. We were directly above it, so to get a better look we found a path down the side. It was odd, because it didn’t seem to be marked out at all and as you got to the view point it said ‘danger – do not enter’. Of course there were children climbing all over it left, right and centre 🙄. Decided to drive down the road for a bit to find a nicer place to stop but there was nowhere. More windy precipitous roads then suddenly we were in Marbella!! – So different, everything immaculate, but it almost looks like pretend Spain compared to further inland. Drove round and round an urbanisation finally getting to a small lake about an hour later. Finished the wine in the fridge – tired now! 💤
