Made our way by road to Unstad this morning – that’s the place we couldn’t reach on foot yesterday. What should have been a 9km walk was half an hours drive!
Once there, we wondered why we’d bothered 🙄! It did have surf, which seems to be the main attraction and a tiny church no bigger than dad’s old allotment shed. Funny thing was, it was full of gardening tools! 😂
Drove on to the next bay which is Utakliev and had to pay 30 nok (£3)to park for three hours or £25 for overnight. The beach was really nice with some good rock sculptures but the best was yet to come.
We walked for an hour around the headland on a really good, flat (thank God!) path, which eventually bought us to Haukland beach. This place is the most stunning we’ve seen to date. Turquoise water, white sand and cliffs all round, just beautiful.

Had to march back almost straight away though as our three hours were running out!
Once back at the motorhome, we decided to bring it back through the tunnel and park here at Haukland for free.
There are loads of people camping in tents and tents on car roofs! Seems to be really popular here even though the temperature is down to single figures at night. The sun has put a late appearance in though, so everyone’s outside cooking, eating and drinking.

Guy has a broken camera lens ☹️- it suddenly started sounding like it was full of pebbles and stopped working. It’s the one he uses most of the time so the photos may be a bit more hit n miss for a while. It’s a bit like writing off a set of Enve wheels…apparently😢
