Last night I heard someone shout “no camping sauvage – policia”….it was dark and Guy was in the shower, so I didn’t open the door. Strange thing was, they never knocked and disappeared straight away. The camper connect website said it was ok to park where we were, so we stayed put. This morning, someone had parked their car directly behind the motorhome next to us so they couldn’t get out, even though there was bags of space elsewhere. Some local chap (suspect he was last nights pretend policeman) came to tell us we had to park further down. There didn’t seem to be any reason for it other than awkwardness- time to move on. We aren’t finding Portugal anywhere near as friendly as Spain and there’s still loads of rubbish and graffiti on the outskirts of all these seaside towns. We drove into Praia da Rocha which had a huge beach and the sea was actually warmish – think I could have got in but not quite warm enough to prevent the shivers when you got out. We had a coffee overlooking the sea and Rufus was bought some water in a catering size mayonnaise tub. After having a drink, he busied himself licking round the edges for traces of Hellmans 😁 This afternoon we’ve parked ourselves on a campsite at Alvor. We might stay the week if it seems ok overnight. First chance we’ve had to try out the ‘drive away awning’. It went up quickly, but we were initially a bit disappointed with the huge distance between the back of it and the motorhome door. Although covered at the top, we wanted a clean area to walk straight in to. We’ve kind of sorted it with various doormats and Rufus loves it as he can be off the lead….and he’s got space, the final frontier….
Sorry, it IS called Rufus rambles 😬😬😬
