Just about to open the blinds this morning when I heard the wiper blade being carefully lifted so the parking attendant could give us a ticket. Really not happy 😡- we’d paid the overnight charge but we were the wrong class of vehicle apparently. The car park was empty. We took up one space and we would’ve stayed and spent money in the town had this not happened. Gone down the appeal route but not holding my breath.
Really liked Whitstable Bay, such a shame. Had a quick walk around as we’d got the ticket anyway. Guy didn’t fancy oysters any more. We never get tickets abroad but this country is a different ball game.
Drove on to Herne Bay and had a walk along the prom with the proper pensioners. Noted parking with four designated motorhome bays for later.
Margate for lunch. Policeman said we could park by the sea over night – free – no problem, except for the illegal encampment of members of the ‘honest travelling community’ on the headland. Bit off putting – bet they don’t get tickets. Lovely walk though in the sunshine, passing Botany Bay towards Kingsgate Castle. Notched up nine miles so that’ll off set the wine hopefully. 😁
Tried driving to Broadstairs but got stuck down a narrow street…enough is enough for one day.
Back up at Herne Bay now, in designated parking with fingers crossed 🤞
