Quite a noisy night in Herne Bay considering it was full of pensioners. Two men had a full on conversation at the back of the van at 5am ..chatting away as if it was the middle of the day 🙄😂

On the road by ten to avoid further parking charges.

Across to Ramsgate in the sunshine. What a bustling busy place that was; looked quite nice, but we ended up parking on the north side and decided to walk along the beach to Broadstairs away from the crowds. Sandy beaches and white cliff faces all the way with a good sprinkling of graffiti thrown in just to remind us ‘this is England’.

I think Broadstairs was even busier than Ramsgate. Lots of people sat outside with their mugs of tea and coffee, all day breakfasts with plates of sliced bread on the side. Had the worst lunch ever in a place called The Bakehouse. Thought it would be nice as lots of people were queueing to collect pre-ordered bread. I had a rubber quiche with a chopped up salad garnish – dire, but Guy’s was much worse. A piece of mackerel straight out of the packet, crab stick, salad garnish and a small pot of Branston Pickle!? All came with a plate of sliced bread also straight from the packet 🙄and two mugs of coffee water! How do these places survive?

Walked back along the cliff tops which was lucky as the tide was in and we wouldn’t have made it along the beach.

Drove to Canterbury for the rest of the day, where fortunately, we found a park n ride with motorhome bays and services. Got the bus into the city which is lovely. Did several miles trying to find the cathedral entrance, only to find it was closed. Limited opening hours due to Covid. Tried to sneak in to a service later on, but it was all covered in scaffold anyway. Great city though – lots of old timbered houses leaning at daft angles. Back at base now with aching feet – London tomorrow 😁

    1. Hi Claire, yes we saw the cow photo – looked hilarious. Hope you had a good time despite glitches. We’re still getting bits of warranty work done on ours – slow job. Hoping to get away after a friend’s wedding in July …either uk or Spain if it’s doable. Hope you’re both ok x

  1. We’re all fine thanks. Hoping to have another trip away to Dorset, if we can sort out our leisure battery problems. Hoping to get to France in September, then maybe, if maybe, go on down to Spain. Who knows. Not counting our chickens yet.
