Woke up really late due to a) the exceptionally comfortable mattress or b) unhappy JCB driver doing laps around the motorhome aire at 4am!

Short drive over two bridges to the beautiful historic port of Honfleur. Even on a freezing cold day like today, it still looks so picturesque with its tall higgledy-piggledy houses providing a backdrop to the pleasure craft moored in the basin. As always, we discovered that the place was far bigger than we thought, as we last came here with Rufus in tow when he couldn’t manage long walks.
Having considered a jaunt into Brittany, we decided we’d already spent a load of diesel money on shower/pump fittings and thought we’d better start heading south.
A quick stop for lunch in Vimoutiers and then we made our way south to Le Mans.

As the light started to fade we went for a quick walk up the cobbled streets into the old quarter. Although a lot of places were closed, it was still a very atmospheric place…it just feels so old. Apparently, The Man in the Iron Mask and Cyrano de Bergerac were both filmed here.
Parked by the river in a new, free motorhome aire. There’s a bit of traffic noise but no JCB’s hopefully!
