Nothing much to report for yesterday as we stayed on the campsite to get some washing done. Had to faff around moving pitches so that we could use the trees to put a line up but it was worth it to get everything dry. It was a lovely hot day so got some beach and swimming in. Five English girls from Portsmouth arrived at the bar mid afternoon and really livened the place up. We went from thinking they were really asking for trouble with the Albanian waiter to wondering if he’d come out alive from his planned night out with them. It was very funny to listen to!😂 Conveniently forgot to get the chicken out of the freezer so had to eat at the campsite taverna. More chips! Not my favourite thing. Aubergine dip was good though!
This morning it had clouded over again. Guy has a big blister on his toe from our train track walk the other day, so we decided to get some miles north done. Parked by a big lake (Limni Koroneia) for lunch but daren’t leave the van as the scruffy car park was full of people meeting up with bikes, scooters, cars and barbecues.

Passed an unexpected and imposing statue of a lion by the side of the road – must be a thing because the Greeks were stopping to look at it.

A deluge of rain followed with much standing water on the road – had to get the rudder out! Seemed like our destination would never arrive today – the beautiful Paralia Erasmiou. A fine white sand beach that we parked at when we first came into Greece last year. Not much choice of parking this year as the car park is knee deep in sand but we managed to find a spot. It’s warm, windy, sunny with spots of rain and even a rainbow over the sea!

Happy Birthday to Callum again today! How on earth can our eldest son be 29??
