Corinth Canal still closed

A driving day today as we could hardly walk 😂🙄

Some workmen arrived as we were having breakfast – about six of them to put up a couple of lampposts. There was much discussion and every passing local offered their opinion on how they should go about it too. Guy asked if we were in the way and they said they’d need the space in about ten minutes, so we had time to get our act together. They waved us off cheerily as we drove down the road.

Followed the coast for a while but then a road closure put us on the toll road, so we got to Corinth really quickly. Stopped for a quick look at the canal – still amazing, still closed.

Used the very expensive motorways then, to get us back up to the Pelion, as we thought we’d have another day or two back at the lovely Camping Hellas in Kato Gatzea. We couldn’t believe how often there was a toll booth – I think it has cost over £50 to get up here.

The Campsite is almost full now and it’s much warmer than is was back in April. Got parked and went straight to the beach.

I went for a swim while Guy was asleep, but he was woken up when a freak wave soaked the towel. As he could see I was swimming out to the buoy, he was in the water in seconds trying to beat me to it. Thank God I got there first or I’d have never heard the last of it!
