Packed up our stuff this morning with a very fuzzy head. No problem getting the motorhome out as the staff at the campsite all came and watched every corner and even stopped the traffic for us. After a short detour to look for some LPG, we headed back along the motorway towards Savona and then north for Turin. We stopped at an outlet place in Mondovi as I thought it might be a good chance to find a dress for Lisa and Johns wedding. It was all a bit deserted – don’t know how they manage to stay open. Mainly men’s suit shops …Guy not interested as they weren’t made of Lycra! Did food shopping instead – at least I don’t faff around so long then. Skirted round Turin and on to Aosta. Can’t believe how far we’ve covered on a smooth motorway – makes a big difference. We stopped to pick up some water and a digger driver was nearby shovelling up some stone. He started to apologise for kicking up the dust and then once he realised we were English immediately changed language (as they all do) but makes you think ..that would never be likely to happen in England! We gave him a can of coke as he looked quite hot and bothered – think it made his day! Parked up for free in Aosta. We are surrounded by mountains with bits of snow on and we’ve had a walk into the old town which is lovely. We had to go through an underpass with steps each side. Rufus struggled as they were quite slippery. On the way back he had a fireman’s lift. I just loved the way he winked at me over Guys shoulder! 😉
