Such a huge empty car park we were in last night. Surrounded by mountains, just outside the town. We were certain of a quiet night. There was a light on in what I thought was one of the offices just before we went to bed. Well, it was only a late night takeaway pizza place and we were parked right outside. It seemed like every man and his dog turned up …utter bedlam! 😂This morning we made our way to the Gran St Bernard pass – we decided to go over the top instead of tunnel, as it was quite expensive. The road was quite good and Rufus enjoyed a walk by a stream in the cool while we shivered alongside him. There was quite a bit of snow still around and at the top, a glacial lake – all very picturesque. We crossed the border here into Switzerland…felt quite sad to leave crazy, mad Italy. Stayed on the A roads as we haven’t bought a vignette. Almost immediately, all the motorists seemed quite courteous- such a difference. Encouraged by this, I finally offered to drive!!😬 I even dove through Montreux – I’m expecting a gold star ⭐️ at least! Lake Geneva (Lac Leman) whatever you want to call it, is just stunningly beautiful. We spent a couple of hours at a place called La Tour de Peilz near Vevey. Flowers and greenery everywhere, live bands, turquoise lake with a snowy mountain backdrop. Drove along trying to find somewhere (with a view) to park up for the night but we had to go further than we thought as it’s very busy. Now just past Lausanne but we’ve got free parking and a view.👍

Ciao Italy ☹️ Bonjour Switzerland 😀
