Here we are back up at 2200 metres at the Cala Alto Observatory. Guy managed to find a twisty mountain road that we haven’t already been up! 🤣

Crisp clean air and we can see for miles and miles. Parked with a couple of other vans and the plan is for a cloudless night so the trusty photographer can check for life in another universe.
Along the way, all the plastic bottles expanded as usual and the expensive olive oil blew its top and emptied itself all over the carpet! 🙄
This morning we visited the towns of Velez Blanco and Velez Rubio.
Velez Blanco has a big Renaissance style castle presiding over the town below – looks like it’s currently being renovated, but we were still able to walk around the inside. The views over the town and beyond are spectacular.

Moved onto Velez Rubio for lunch and as we pulled into the last space in the parking area, I suddenly recognised it. We parked here one afternoon in spring ‘22 and it was raining so much, we didn’t get out of the van. Guy had no recollection of it whatsoever so we had to look back on the blog to make sure. Anyway, it’s a nice town with a lovely church with an obliging priest who was just locking up but welcomed us in for a two minute look around.

Night sky photos below, but Guy has had to retreat inside now as we’ve been told that a little girl has been bitten by a white fox! We’ve just investigated and they do actually get arctic foxes in Andalucia 😮…didn’t realise they were prone to attacking people though!
