Strange creatures around these parts! After the arctic fox attacked the little girl last night, it obviously wanted more, so ripped holes in our precious carpet which was drying outside on a rock after the Amoco Cadiz incident. We had washed and rinsed it in the shower but obviously must have still smelt of olive oil.
Guy got up to watch the sun rise this morning which was lovely. Then, our other neighbour knocked on the door before we left to tell us about the brown fox which was also, apparently very aggressive. Good job Señor Bramley was getting his snaps from inside the van!

Drove back down the road to Almería, which we’ve never visited before as we thought it was just an urban sprawl. It is, mainly, but it has this amazing Alcazaba which stands high above the city. The palace and fortress complex is massive and completely free to walk around. Looks like it’s in the process of being renovated in places, but it does resemble a mini Alhambra.

Driven by hunger, we went to explore the rest of the city but couldn’t find anywhere to eat or anything else to see really. Eventually landed in a little square and got some decent croquetas to keep us going.

We had good parking at the port but didn’t know what to do with ourselves for the rest of the afternoon, so we set off along the coast road and eventually found ourselves a little spot by the sea. Even got the chairs out for a quick snore 😴!
