Beddgelert

Not a great nights sleep in the car park. A little gang of lads plus a boy racer kept me awake until 3am. Guy was oblivious to everything until the police came …then he thought they’d come for us! 🙄

Floated round Tesco in a daze looking for sandwich ingredients for tomorrow, when we hope to go up Snowdon along with every other person in Wales.

Stocked up, we drove on the narrow roads through the mountains to Beddgelert. Even the lay-byes were rammed with parked cars and most of the car parks had signs saying ‘pre booked vehicles only’. Luckily, we managed to tuck ourselves into a small gap and had a walk through the very busy village.

Went to see Gelert’s grave – the legendary dog who was killed by his master, who thought Gelert had tried to kill his son. The dog had actually killed a wolf that had tried to attack his son, who was still alive. Confused yet?

Anyway, it’s been mostly sunny 😎 and I’ve been trying to be warm. Other good news is that we’ve managed to park in Llanberis ready for tomorrow’s big walk. There’s a lovely lake here with loads of families paddle boarding and kayaking.

Guy managed to get a photo of the iconic ‘Lone tree at Llanberis’ although I don’t think it’s been alone at all this Summer!
