Garth Pier – Bangor

Just been one of those days today, nothing’s been quite right. We got going early to avoid the daytime parking fee – when I say early, well, it was 8:30 when we woke up & it felt like the middle of the night – must be the sea air!

Called at Cemlyn on the north side of Anglesey on the recommendation of a local couple. Very narrow track and nothing there really – apart from the view of the nuclear power station.

Cemaes was much nicer but we couldn’t park as it was really busy.

Carried on right round the island to Beaumaris. Managed to park but the place was completely rammed with people. On the pier, children were reeling in crabs like they were going out of fashion – never seen so many caught in one place.

Drove back over the easier Menai bridge and couldn’t decided what to do. 🙄

So, here we are, in Bangor. Not a lot here except a very ornate Victorian grade two listed pier. We had a walk to the end – it’s very long, nearly stretches right across to Anglesey. Sadly, most of the little kiosks were empty or closed but it’s still a lovely old structure. We’re parked for the night overlooking it, on a bit of a downhill slope – we could be at the end of it by morning! 😂
