Driven north up the coastal road to Bleik, which has very white sand and turquoise sea…more evident when the sun shines. It was warm and sunny first thing though, so we had a good walk on the beach – it was beautiful. Saw a van with a GB sticker on – the first we’ve seen in weeks. English couple who were about to go off on the ‘Puffin Safari’ – we toyed with the idea, and whale watching too, but the weather was changing rapidly and both things are quite expensive. I had also read, that the whale watching tours take place in exactly the same area, where, later in the year, they are slaughtered for their meat..usually with exploding harpoons!292CD5D4-3C98-452A-98D6-6634993DB561

On our route the last couple of days we’ve come across several electric cattle grids – they scare me to death. One was even buzzing the other day as we went across it …”just driving the green mile…” 😂A583092C-D07A-4E11-A704-E74628064C79

Had lunch further up the scenic coast road and then carried on to the top of the island (Andøya) to Andenes. It was raining by now but we put the waterproofs on and had a little wander round the town. There wasn’t a lot to see as it’s mainly just a port. Some pretty houses on stilts though and a lighthouse.

After some debate, we’ve come back down the same road and parked just south of Bleik, where there’s a walk up to a viewpoint. Must be worth doing as it was full of cars earlier, so thats tomorrow’s plan.
