Quiet night apart from double church bells đ. We drove towards Chalons to the nearest vet. Realised after booking a crossing for Saturday morning that we needed to have Rufusâ tablet given to him 24 hours beforehand – that meant before 9:30 today! Could only manage to park if we were a little bit in front of someoneâs garage, so I ran in and asked if they could see Rufus. âWhen?âasked the receptionist…..âer..now, if possible đŹâAmazingly, she said âok – 5 minutes.â Guy took him in and I waited in the van in case the garage owner came in or out. He did! As I jumped out to apologise profusely for parking in front of his garage, he said itâs no problem and somehow managed to squeeze in. He and his wife then stood chatting, asking where weâd been etc – canât get over how friendly the French have been in the last couple of days. Meanwhile, the receptionist was laughing at Guy walking in with a pack of ham ready to wrap up the tablet! All done, another ÂŁ40 odd for one worming tablet! Passport stamped, so off we went.
Next stop Auchan for cheese, wine and coffee – the motorhome is much heavier now and I donât think itâs the cheese! Stopped at a monastery for afternoon walk but it was all closed with no footpath round it. Filled up with diesel from our spare can – decided to limp by until we get to England – itâs so expensive here.
