Drove south this morning to a place called Camp Adventure which sounds awful, but was quite amazing. We went to see the newly opened spiral tower,45 metres high,in the woodland. Sunday morning though, and sunny – every Dane for miles around had the same idea.
There was other stuff to do there; zip wires, climbing platforms etc … surprisingly, Herr Bramley wasn’t tempted on this occasion. 😂
We walked up, along with a thousand others, in ever decreasing circles to just above the trees, then the circles got bigger again towards the top. Made you feel quite dizzy, but you can see for miles as Denmark is so flat.
Philly cheese and crisp breads for lunch again – this has to stop! Then, we drove on south to the island of Møn to see the famous white cliffs, Møns Klint. After climbing down Denmark’s longest staircase, the cliffs themselves were a bit of an anticlimax. The book promised azure sea against white cliffs. Think it was the wrong time of day to see it, as it was completely in the shade and the sea was grey. ☹️ Back up the hundreds of steps, legs like jelly by the time we reached the top.
Over a couple more islands, heading towards a small port at Rødby , where we’ll get a short ferry tomorrow across to Germany and cheaper groceries!
Parked up by a long bridge just in time to watch a good sunset.
