Last nights gig was an eye opener to us. A band we’d never heard of draws in a few hundred people from another country and the audience seems to know every word of every song. Some serious musicianship, light show and an early Peter Gabrielesque front man. Thanks again Niall.
We got the tram back in to the city this morning and it was warm and sunny which makes a big difference.
After seeing the grand dome of Frederickskirken, we made our way to Amalienborg Slot (Queen Margrethe’s palaces), just in time to see the changing of the guard. Their marching was a lot more relaxed than their British counterparts.
Lunchtime, so we headed towards Torvehallerne, the covered food market, and had a beautiful open sandwich with smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Half the price of the cafes and tables to sit at outside in the sunshine.
Tivoli Gardens next. Amusement parks aren’t normally our thing but we thought we should see it while we were here, as it dates back to 1843. Some of the old style rides looked amazing, surrounded by glass pavilions, side shows and twinkling lights, all set in parkland. It was heaving with people due to the fine weather I suppose.
I don’t think it really needed all the huge rides of the kind you’d find at Alton Towers, but I suppose people want faster crazier thrills these days. The other thing that struck us was the fact that 70% of the park was given over to eating places – odd.

After getting the tram back to the carpark, we decided to move just a little further south to avoid paying the parking fees and listening to trams all night. Found a nice quiet spot on our own…then the familiar sound of another motorhome pulling in.- safety in numbers.😂

How great you managed to catch up with Niall. I may despond with technology sometimes, but we could never have made the connection a few years ago. Motorhome round Scandavavia meets Prog Rock in Stockholm. Bizarre.
Ha ha ..yes, thank you again – it was a great evening out. Feel so guilty we weren’t able to stay up late enough to catch up with Niall properly. Was weird though – to meet someone you know in the depths of Europe!
